"CAN I PET THAT DOG?"
conveys a meaning which has possibly been uttered by every human being in existence since dogs came to sit by humanity's side as our beloved companions. And what companions have they been! Through the love of dogs, has humanity's love of animals widened. It's expanded to include cats, who continually claw at our hearts (and sometimes our sanity) and continues to envelope all types of different furry and scaled creatures.
It's because of this love that a group of my fellow volunteers, animal lovers, and owners are banding together on the 6th of May to enjoy a day in sun, surrounded my mounds of dogs to go for a walk. While this is typically what most of us dream of doing most days, this particular day is to to raise much needed funds for the San Diego Humane Society.
This organisation, supported by amazing volunteers does vital work to help the injured and sick, home the homeless and keep all kinds of animals off the street and out of danger. This kind of work doesn't happen with no costs and certainly not cheaply. Food, toys, blankets, medicine and surgeries are some of the costs that are continuously building up in the efforts to help as many animals as possible.
If you're able, please consider sparing what you can. Even if it's just a dollar!
Every cent counts towards helping this organisation keep doing what it does best - helping those that can't help themselves.
