Please join volunteer naturalist Don Endicott for a 40 minute multi-media presentation “The Peregrine Falcon, Fastest Animal in the World.” Don’s interpretive talk illustrates the Peregrine’s highly specialized physical features, adaptations required for successfully hunting at speeds over 200 miles an hour. Their natural history and remarkable comeback from near extinction in the mid-1960s will be covered. Featured throughout the talk is a selection of Don’s photographs taken as a volunteer nest site monitor at Cabrillo National Monument for the past five seasons. We wrap up with four short video clips and a question and answer period.
There is a $5 fee for this program. If you're a San Diego Humane Society staff member or volunteer, please email cpadilla@sdhumane.org before registering. ZOOM information will be sent to you the day before the presentation.
